Alpha Tanks are delighted to announce that it has achieved certification which will allow CE marking of their fabricated structural steelwork up to and including Execution Class 2 (EXC2). This allows it to fabricate the vast majority of steel structures. Since July 1st 2014, under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR), it has been a legal requirement that fabricated structural steelwork delivered to construction sites must be CE certified. The European Standard for the CE marking of structural steelwork is EN1090-1:2009 + A1:2011. In order to be able to CE mark their steelwork, contractors have to implement a certified Factory Production Control (FPC) system and have a documented Welding Quality Management System (WQMS). Alpha Tanks has invested in both personnel and quality assurance systems to ensure that the certification requirements were met.
The CE mark is a recognised standard of quality in fabricated structural steel and together with the already operational quality standard ISO 9001, it has further enhanced Alpha Tanks capabilities. It helps ensure that customers receive high quality engineering solutions with the required technical back up.
Commenting on the awarding of the certification, Alpha Tanks’ Director Fergal Cleary, stated:
This allows Alpha Tanks to supply stairs, platforms, walkways, support structures and skids that complements Alpha’s work on tanks and vessels. In other words, we can supply the full fabrication package, a one stop fabrication workshop. Our customers can now have full confidence that the whole package, the tanks, the platforms, stairs etc. will fit together perfectly when finally built together on site.
